Welcome to the Track and Field online licence portal. This system should be used for all UK wide Level 2 Track & Field Licence applications and all Level 1 Licence applications for England.
The main points to note are:

- Local Authorities and Venue management companies must be consulted, and their guidance implemented for the licences to be valid.
- Applications should be submitted electronically using the form here or by clicking the start button at the bottom of this page.
- Applications should be submitted at the earliest opportunity with an absolute minimum of 10 days prior to the event.
- Detailed information about the nature of the promotion including the range of events, age groups, lead officials and agreement to complete a risk assessment will be required
- Applications submitted on the online form will be reviewed manually to determine if the application will be approved or rejected.
- In England applications will be reviewed in the first instance by a Regional Council representative and secondly by a National Officer who will issue the licences. Applications for a Level 1 Licence in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will go direct to the appropriate Officer in the usual way; Level 2 events will be issued through UKA.
- Applications will be automatically assessed for a Level 1 Licence, but consideration for a Level 2 licence can be requested. The published licensing conditions must be met; to include the expected numbers and levels of Technical Officials and technical equipment to be used. Other factors such as the level of competition and the history of the event will also be before taken into account before a Level 2 Licence is granted.
- Your programme may include non-standard events, as long as track races distances do not contravene the age group rules listed in the UKA rule book.
- Although we are moving away from COVID-19 restrictions, please be mindful that with the virus still with us, some people are at greater risk than others and they may wish to continue to practise good safety measures such as facemask wearing, social distancing and open windows..
Significant issues to note include:
- The safety of all participants is of paramount importance therefore ALL licensed events (both Level 1 and Level 2) must be held at venues that have achieved or are actively working towards TrackMark accreditation.

- It is mandatory for all Licenced Level 2 competitions involving Hammer, Discus or Weight Throw that they should only take place at venues with a throws cage that meets the intent of the World Athletics specification(i.e. from a cage with a hammer danger zone of no more than 56° and a discus danger zone of no more than 69°). The following conditions will continue to apply:
- Competitions must be delivered under UKA Rules for Competition or World Athletics Rules.
- All Results, in the appropriate format, must be sent directly to Power of 10 as agreed by UKA and the Home Country Athletics Federation.
